Staffordshire's dismal showing in this seasons Twenty/20 competition continued on Sunday when they were defeated twice by top of the group Lincolnshire despite twice getting them selves into winning positions.

Lincs got off to a flier in the first game with a rapid half century from Usman Arshad. However Staffs bowlers managed to stem the flow of runs and restrict the home side to 165.8.with James Cox and Richard Williams both claiming two wickets. In reply Staffs were well on course at the half way stage reaching 83.2 but the dismissal of the recalled Ryan Hassett for 62 led to an all to familiar batting collapse as Staffs ended their innings on 148.9.

In the second natch Lincs were in deep trouble at 73.7 but the Staffs bowlers failed to finish them off and a late flourish saw them post a very gettable 129.7. Walsall debutant Billy-J Cox and Matthew Morris with three wickets each. Replying Staffs collapsed to 72 all out to leave Lincs with maximum points from the day.

Next Sunday sees Staffs complete their Twenty/20 matches when they entertain Cumberland (11am & 2.30pm) at Knypersley Cricket Club with free admission for all.
